Women's Ministry Activities & Events
Our Theme for 2009-10:
"Treasure Hunt" -- Matthew 6:21: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Join the women of Grace for a "Treasured Year." We will focus our hearts, minds, and souls on eternal treasure, and you'll want to be a part of the adventure! Join us from the start by investing in a Bible Study in the fall and explore the "Treasures of Wisdom" in God's Word. You won't want to miss the "Treasured Times": evenings we have arranged for you regardless of your season of life--come and connect with other women, bring a friend, and enjoy the community! Of course you'll want to be a part of our "Treasured Events" with the return of the Christmas Cafe and the Spring Tea. This winter we'll get away for a weekend to be revived as we look into "God's Treasure Chest" and discover His Treasure in unusual places. Bible Studies
We offer opportunities for women of all ages and stages of life to meet weekly and grow together in a group atmosphere as we study God's Word. This year we'll have studies during the Sunday morning "Grace U" class time, as well as Thursday evenings and Friday mornings. Fall studies included "Transformation: Letting God Change You from the Inside Out," "Back to Basics," Jesus, the One and Only" (a Beth Moore study), and "Seeking Him" (Nancy Leigh DeMoss). Winter studies, beginning in January and February, will include "1Peter: Walk the Talk" (Steve May), and "What's So Amazing About Grace?" (Phillip Yancey). Traveling Together Ministry
Everyone needs someone to come alongside them, to strengthen and challenge them. Find out how you can meet with another woman to encourage, strengthen, challenge, and pray with one another. Stop by the Women's Ministry table or contact Carrie Weber.
Prayer Ministry
The women of Grace are divided into groups, each with one person who is committed to praying for them every Monday. If you would like to be added to this list, please stop by the Women's table or contact Noel Walton.
Moms' Group
Meet with other moms of all ages throughout the year for evenings of fellowship, food, and fun! Check the Grace calendar for Moms' Nights, free holiday babysitting, days at the park, and other fun and uplifting activities.
Christmas Cafe
On Tuesday, December 8, from 7-9:00 pm, we gathered for "A Treasured Place." We turned our focus on the Christmas Season and discovered that the most treasured place is with Him! Watch for this favorite event to return next year.
Weekend Retreat
February 26-28 we'll get away to the Abbey in Lake Geneva for "God's Treasure Chest." Often we think of our treasures as bright jewels and the "good" things in life. Elizabeth Smith will guide us on the "hunt" to discover that treasure is found in unusual places!
The Spring Tea!
On May 1, from 2-4:00 pm, we'll meet for "T is for Treasure." Are your treasures genuine or are they replicas? What does it mean to store up for yourselves eternal treasure? (Matthew 6) Join us for this "interactive" afternoon. Stop by the Women's table for tickets and more information.
