Hours:
20-25 hours/ week for one or split position

$20 - $25 an hour based on training and experience.

GCC Children's Ministry Director

Qualifications:
Passion for children
and children's ministry- a heart that embraces children, a personality that welcomes them, and a compelling drive to minister to children and their families.

Equipped for building a ministry team- have desires and skills for forming effective teams for children's ministry.


Responsibilities:


Prepare volunteers to serve children

  • Coordinate and recruit volunteers for nursery-5th grade ministries.

  • Develop and operate effective training for volunteers.

  • Bring unity and focus to Children's Ministry by providing nurture, motivation and communication for the volunteer staff.

  • Set and establish a culture of appreciation for Children's Ministry Volunteers.

  • Perform background checks of volunteers.

Promote, evaluate and improve the level of discipleship among our children.

  • Develop, implement and evaluate curriculum for Sunday School and Kids Church.

  • Oversee needed resources, room set-up, cleaning, snacks, craft supplies, and check-in.

  • Create, organize, direct and implement important events such as Promotion Sunday (Apr), Ministry Kick-Off (Aug), GCC Planting Day (May), Reason for the Season Party (Dec).

Set a vision for the design and implementation of a 21st Century children's ministry that reaches beyond the doors of GCC.

  • Evaluate the goals, objectives, strategies and outcomes of standing programs based on GCC's Mission and revise as appropriate.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Awana (Mondays) and VBS/Backyard Club.

  • Brainstorm and implement creative ways we can reach the whole family for Christ.

Miscellaneous

  • Administrative responsibilities and policy development for budget, equipment, supplies, facilities, record keeping and safety.

  • Coordinate ongoing communication with parents (bulletin, Courier - quarterly, Fall Ministry Booklet, event reminders).
